Mixing and Mastering

I provide over 10 years’ experience of listening critically to mixes from a wide range of genres, from folk to techno and beyond, providing professional and good value mixing and mastering services. I work with Dolby Atmos, conventional stereo, and vinyl. 

My approach is client centred. Removing the myth of mastering being a ‘dark art’, I help the client hear what I hear, discussing what might need to change in the mix before I go ahead with the master. If working with a mixed track, I don’t like to pretend that every mix is ready for the job and would rather work closely with the mix engineer if any problems need fixing. This makes for the best sound, suitable for playing loud without the risk of hearing damage. On both mixing and mastering projects, I specialise in keeping music as dynamic as possible, in-keeping with industry requirements.

For mixing I especially love working with clients who use Ableton, helping them finish their albums in a way that is also ready for live performance. I am also comfortable in Logic and Pro Tools.

I work with artists new to the scene, major labels, and everyone in between. My Hastings studio space has a sprung floor and a room within a room (extremely well treated), and quality PMC monitors. Although happy working digitally, I can also provide full analogue services - and if you need a fast turnaround I can make things happen fast.
